![]() ![]() So I weaned them off flakes, and they didn't complain. I fed them a wide variety of flakes and small pellets for awhile, but as they got bigger and bigger I realized that the flakes were messy in the tank and they ate the pellets first, then just sort of ended up eating the flakes as they bottom-fed, without really caring. Now he and Jackie can and do vacuum in *medium* Wardley's pellets, in triplicate, without hesitation. At first they were too small to handle pellets-although it was hilarious to watch poor baby Sammy trying to get a Wardley's Goldfish Crumble in his tiny mouth. As he grew, and I got Jackie, I just started buying every kind of GF food I could find. When I first got Sammy, I fed him nothing but Tetra Fin GF flakes and Wardley brine shrimp flakes, since that's what my best friend fed her fish. She'd hide, shoot up to the top to nibble a bit, then SPLASH and dive to hide some more. I'd put a little chunk in the tank, and she'd go nuts. I tried feeding them Hikari freeze-dried bloodworms, but for some reason Jackie is TERRIFIED of them. I do give them Tetra-brand freeze-dried bloodworms occasionally. No live food, either, as I live in a relatively small city where it's not available in stores. No steak, but occasionally eggs-of the scrambled variety! It'll all systems go now, though, and should be up again within 72 hours. My old server just disappeared/went out of business without giving me a chance to transfer anything, so there was some down time as I moved everything to a new host. Oh, and a little off-topic postscript.I don't know if anyone's noticed, but my website has been down for a couple of weeks. The fishies will be so happy to hear about it! But of course they have a website! D'oh! Silly me. I bought a huge container from what they had left, figuring when that was gone my babies would have to live without it. I was really bummed out when the only pet store in town that carries it announced they weren't going to sell it anymore. (They also eat Pro-Gold, Omega One, Wardley's and Laguna food, of course, but Aquadine is their main source of spirulina.) I've been feeding my babies a blend of Aquadine goldfish and spirulina chips for at least a year, and they love 'em! The spirulina is just the right size for them, without being messy like flakes or big and hard like the kind sold for algae eaters. I don't know the Stay C Dry is nor have I ever heard of Ethoxyquin as an antioxidant but I want to know what someone thinks about this.Īnd it looks like the flakes are more like the Tetra crisps in shape.*slaps forehead* They have a website! Of course they do! I can't believe I didn't think to look for that before! Has someone tried this or can anyone help analyze it? I'm interested in trying it but at the same time it doesn't look like it's a great food. ![]() ![]() They have a great thing where you can combine different foods to make your own. I'm wondering if anyone has tried the AquaDine fish food. ![]()
